It's tough for Australia to set fresh records.

The highest peaks have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the unit that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to six more T20 titles, and earlier maintained over three years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, the ones sought by the record chasers, are what's still available for a squad that has won it all.

It needed up to Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase above 300, regaining their record for the highest in the female 50-over format, is, frankly, a testament to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over five decades.

It is hard for their batsmen to hold a record if not afforded the possibility.

Some will argue the reasoning behind the pressure of a final. Some might respond with the test that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What is certain is this hundred was considerably tougher to predict.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 came as she was the highest scorer, but this performance followed six innings in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've observed me in training, it has been a disappointing period because it seemed my form was missing at all," stated Healy.

"But once you step out on the field, your competitive instincts activate and you completely engage with the competition."

Healy's competitive nature has always been her great strength - and an invaluable trait in succeeding legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, out to the young fast bowler in every game, but here that only provided Healy's motivation.

A single was taken off the opening delivery and after that the batsman was in motion.

"A chance to play and lock in a contest with her and merely enjoy the moment that way, somewhat inspired me," said Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 pitches - her swiftest at the global tournament - and her century in 84 deliveries while she flogged anything short, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

When she was dismissed Australia needed 66 more at a run-a-ball - an achievable target now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Chasing 330 runs is unfamiliar ground so I'm pleased we have the confidence to accomplish that now," added Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it another time but, if necessary, we know we can do it."

These statements will be the final thing competing nations at this tournament need to hear.

Over the past five days a belief they will triumph from any situation has grown stronger - this victory following victory over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite being 76-7 at a certain moment.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a match against old rivals England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final berth may likely be confirmed.

It was in the semi-finals they left last year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a match Healy was absent due to damaged tissue in her foot as she led her country for the initial instance at a major tournament.
